La Playa Salinas (Salinas Beach)

Today I went to Salinas. Although we arrived before 4, it wasn´t much before then! Aye Carumba! This beach reminds me a little of the Outerbanks of North Carolina. It´s more of a fishing area than tourist area. Pretty nonetheless.

A dried coconut?

Note the majestic mountains in the distance behind this beach house. This is one of the attractions of Salinas.

The word Salinas, like saline, means salty solution. This is one of the salt mines still in use in the area.

The salt crystals close up.

Everything beautiful here is usually so overcrowded. But surprisingly not this beach. It was practically desolate.

Buenas Vistas! Beautiful views.

Some fishing boats taking a siesta.
